Assessing Height Variations in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau from Time-Varying Gravity Data and Hydrological Model

چکیده
Height variations caused by mass change make an important contribution to the tectonic uplift of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP). To study deformation attributable hydrological loading and real potential vertical motion, satellite gravity data from Gravity Recovery Climate Experiment (GRACE) GRACE Follow-On (GRACE-FO) with Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS) Positioning (GPS) are adopted estimate height in QTP. Based on spherical harmonic function (SHF) Green’s (GF), results show trend is unevenly distributed spatial domain. The SHF indicated that rate southwest QTP ~1 mm/year, while northern eastern a subtle decreasing trend, which indicates not main cause observed GRACE. maximum annual amplitude ~12 mm, reaching around February March. average correlation coefficients SHF, GF GPS heights 0.70 0.82, respectively. cross wavelet transform, it concluded there signals between derived (-FO) GLDAS. Finally, motion given removing effect loading, shows most stations uplifted at 0.06 mm/year–1.97 mm/year.

Information System of the Wetlands on the Qinghai-tibet Plateau
This study establishes an information system of the wetlands and lakes on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. We sort up on the wetlands and use Visual Basic 6.0 for the management and development of MapObjects, and the ArcSDE pattern to place the spatial and attribute data into the Microsoft SQL Server relational integrated database. We demonstrate how this Wetland Information System, containing all th...
متن کاملIncreased Water Storage in the Qaidam Basin, the North Tibet Plateau from GRACE Gravity Data
Groundwater plays a key role in maintaining the ecology and environment in the hyperarid Qaidam Basin (QB). Indirect evidence and data from sparse observation wells suggest that groundwater in the QB is increasing but there has been no regional assessment of the groundwater conditions in the entire basin because of its remoteness and the severity of the arid environment. Here we report changes ...
متن کاملGroup size effect on vigilance: evidence from Tibetan gazelle in Upper Buha River, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
Tibetan gazelle Procapra picticaudata is a threatened and endemic species to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. With the method of group scan sampling, we observed the behaviours of males and females of the gazelle in the two summers of 2005 and 2006, in order to test the group size effect on group vigilance. We found that male gazelles were significantly more vigilant than the females at both group sc...
متن کاملHypoxia Adaptations in the Grey Wolf (Canis lupus chanco) from Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
The Tibetan grey wolf (Canis lupus chanco) occupies habitats on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, a high altitude (>3000 m) environment where low oxygen tension exerts unique selection pressure on individuals to adapt to hypoxic conditions. To identify genes involved in hypoxia adaptation, we generated complete genome sequences of nine Chinese wolves from high and low altitude populations at an averag...
متن کاملPermafrost Presence/Absence Mapping of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Based on Multi-Source Remote Sensing Data
The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP) is known as the Third Polar of the earth and the Water Tower of Asia, with more than 70% of the area on the QTP is covered by permafrost possibly. An accurate permafrost distribution map based on valid and available methods is indispensable for the local environment evaluation and engineering constructions planning. Most of the previous permafrost maps have emplo...
